Helmut Lang blazer, Kate Sylvester top, Topshop superskinny jeans, Country Rd ballet flats (similar)
On heavy rotation. Mornings like today, where the wind is bitter cold, has had me wishing that I was snuggled up in bed with a warm cup of hot chocolate. These are the days where you layer on your warmest merino, two pairs of tights, and a big thick winter coat to block out any breath of cold air.
On other days, when winter seems much less harsh, I’ve been gravitating towards a few simple pieces in my wardrobe, of which a few are above. Heavy wool jackets, thrown over pretty silk blouses and skinny jeans seem to form the base of most of my outfits on days that I don’t choose to wear a dress or skirt. Topped off with a pashmina, a simple pair of ballet flats (or some sturdy boots), and I’m good to go, once I’ve thrown on my winter coat that is.
It makes me realise that the saying that we only wear 20% of our wardrobe, 80% of the time, is not far from the truth. It wouldn’t be hard for me to pick the 20 or so things out of my wardrobe that I tend to wear more often than not…
YOu're right! But it so sad(Because we buy clothes and after some times we forget it and lost in our wardrobe! But when we find ones we happy!

In winter I pretty much just throw on a pair of tights :) Love living in Brisbane, although it is rather chilly today.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment about the necklaces, so excited to be launching soon- which is a good thing, I almost don't want to part with them.
Beautiful pieces! Blazer and jeans are the perfect go-to in this chilly weather :)

I'm doing the same thing at the moment! Grey skies and wind mean I'm layering up. Any hint of sun and I'll risk just a coat over a shirt :)

That's true... but I find the pieces I wear the most often aren't usually my favourite - why is that? Am I saving my favourites for something? Maybe because the majority of days are work days, and I prefer to save the fun clothes for weekends.
ReplyDeleteRainy and cool here too! Those pieces are gorgeous, love the colors. That blazer is amazing with the top!

IT really is true, we always tend to reach for the same things in our closets...makes getting rid of clothes, easier, no?
ReplyDeleteThat saying is DEFINITELY true. However, I also think that it's actually GOOD to have a "uniform." Not in the boring, style-crushing sense, but in the sense that there is a collection of types of peices that you can throw on and feel natural and fabulous any/every day.
ReplyDeleteTHANKS for stopping by my lil blog and leaving a thoughtful comment; I'm sooooo happy to have discovered your blog in return!

It's a great idea to sit in bed with a warm cup of hot chocolate!
ReplyDeleteThis trensparent shirt I like :)
I tend to gravitate toward the same pieces time and time again! I have worn my CR winona flats to death and am scared because the new ones seem soft and like they lose that lovely almond shape quickly which is disappointing! This weather is killing me, to be honest, I hate the cold and the wind in Sydney is just so biting at the moment that I literally got tears walking to the post office yesterday! Sad!
ReplyDeleteLOVE that top!
ReplyDeleteI really love that top that you have there!
