Karen Walker dress and sunglasses, Acne cardigan
You'd probably never tell by the way I dress now, but growing up I was a bit of a tomboy. I'm not sure I owned anything pink. It started out with snap pants and silver platform sneakers, and shortly after moved on to baggy "skater" pants with boxers showing. Not exactly fashion moments I look back on fondly, but I wouldn't doubt that each and every one of us went through a similar period.
As the contents of my wardrobe have slowly (or perhaps I should say steadily) evolved over the years, I've moved toward a wardrobe filled with different shades of the pink or red tonal family, alongside florals, navy's and greys. There were once days when I said that I would never be caught wearing a dress, but those are long gone now, with dresses making up an integral part of my wardrobe. I suppose that it taught me to never say never, especially when it comes to your style. Is there anything you thought that you would never wear when you were younger, but that now plays an important role in your day-to-day wear?

ReplyDeleteas for things to do:
If you like teas, Bake-a-Boo's and the Sanderson Hotel's Mad Hatter teas are fun! And eating at pubs is always a good time, I really liked The Porcupine when we went this year.
If you've never been to Pizza Express you should go, soo tasty! They have vegetarian stuffs too, and the dough balls are awesome.
And of course Abbey Road and the other usuals
Cute dress!! I never wore dresses much as a teenager and only started wearing them when I was around 19 - now I live in them. I think I never wore them because I was a bit self conscious. I also did the skater pants thing. I thought it was cool to have baggy jeans and my Gallaz skater runners! Funny how things change.
ReplyDeleteGosh, that cardigan looks perfectly comfy for that beautiful day!
ReplyDeleteYou look great. Loved your floral dress! That outfit looks nice.

what a gorgeous dress! the print is so cute.
ReplyDeleteas recently as last year, I used to live in girly skirts and dresses and never wore pants or jeans and now I rarely wear skirts and live in jeans and more tomboy-ish outfits. I never thought I would dress the way I do now. although I was a tomboy when I was a kid as well! xx
